Laser Vein Treatment

Cropped pants, cute dresses and skirts, short-shorts and bathing suits all have one thing in common…the chance to show off smooth, even-toned legs devoid of spider veins and broken capillaries. With the help of laser vein treatment, beautifully bare legs can be had with minimal downtime and discomfort.

During this non-invasive, injection-free procedure, the Alma Harmony Laser is used to target the treatment area with a specific wavelength of light that cauterizes the vein. The treated vein eventually collapses and is absorbed by the body, while blood naturally begins to flow through nearby veins. Multiple sessions may be necessary depending on the size of the vein and the body’s ability to heal. While not completely painless, laser vein treatment is only mildly uncomfortable, with some patients describing the sensation of a small rubber band snapping on the skin.

Treatment Areas

What to Expect

  • Appointments generally last between 15-30 minutes.
  • Minimal discomfort. Feels like a small rubber band snapping.
  • Results can be seen in the first 24- 48 hours. Depending on the size of the veins and the body’s ability to heal, multiple sessions may be needed.
  • During the consultation, the esthetician will answer any questions and take a complete medical history to assess treatment areas. The consultation will also determine the need for a topical anesthetic to minimize discomfort at the treatment site.
  • After the treatment area is cleaned, the esthetician will use a hand-held laser to deliver light pulses to the skin.

Before Your Appointment

  • Avoid shaving or waxing the area and forego using waxing products, peels, and topical creams that contain retinol or glycolic acid that can make skin more sensitive and potentially interfere with the procedure for 24 hours before treatment.

After Your Appointment

  • Minimal redness or swelling may occur immediately after your appointment and can be treated by applying an ice pack. Some patients describe it as a “cat scratch” appearance.
  • Slight bruising can occur due to the redistribution of blood flow in the treated area.
  • Resume normal activities as your comfort level allows.
  • Avoid sun exposure a week after treatment.
